The Ethnomusicology Undergraduate Student Organization (EUSO) is proud to announce the revival of Worldstock, a student-run concert of world music, to be held on May 10, 2008, in Schoenberg Hall, UCLA, starting at noon. In the spirit of the newly conceived UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, this free event will feature the talents of students from the three "music" departments at UCLA: ethnomusicology, music, and musicology.

The concert features students' own performance groups, rather than the traditional UCLA-affiliated ensembles. These groups cover a wide variety of the world's music including a Brazilian percussion ensemble, rock bands, a world fusion jazz trio, a bluegrass ensemble, various classical chamber groups, and an Indian music/jazz ensemble (to name a few).

EUSO president and concert organizer Kiran Gupta states, "This event represents a unique relationship between art and culture, and the incredible possibilities that can exist when cultures interact musically. The event is intended to inspire awareness of some of these possibilities. The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music is one of the most progressive in the world, exposing students to a wide musical palette which includes the harmonic colors, rhythms, and textures of the world."
